Dear All,

I'm back from the Fairy tale road.  It was long distance travel in 3 days.  And I have experienced the unbelievable train delay on saturday.  I thought the DB should be always on time, but it wasn't.

Saturday, I was supposed to come back to YH Frankfurt after the Rhein trip.  And then went to Hameln in early Sunday morning to catch the pied piper open-air play at noon.  However, I changed the schedule to go to Hameln on Saturday instead of Sunday because the YH Frankfurt didn't allow me to leave the luggage over 2 days.  I had to dragged the luggage to Frankfurt main station and left it in the locker there.  I decided to save the strengh of returning to YH Frankfurt and went to Hameln directly since the luggage was at the Frankfurt station already and I didn't want to spend another 8 Euro while I went to Hameln and Kassel.  So, it's long way to travel on Saturday, 1.5 hour from Koblenz to Frankfurt and 3 hours from Frankfurt to Hameln.

The bad hint showed in the morning.  When I rushed down the hill to catch the bus, it was late about 15 minutes.  That was the first time that I experienced the delay on transportation here.  I went to Cochem in the morning and then the unbelievable delay started.  The express train from Cochem to Koblenz delayed over 30 minutes so I missed the earlier connection from Koblenz to Frankfurt.  And then the express train from Koblenz to Frankfurt delayed another 20 minutes so I had to find new connection for my trip again.  Luckily, Frankfurt was the first stop of the train to Hameln or it might have delayed also.  So when I finally get to Hameln, it was almost 9 pm.  There was no bus to YH already.  A nice old lady helped me to find a shared taxi which only cost me 2 Euro.  Thanks her so much or I would have to spend a lot on that taxi.  Was it because it was Saturday so almost every express train was late?

After I arrived in Hameln, the trip slowed down again.  I saw the first Pied Piper open-air play of this year.  I wasn't so sure if it would play last Sunday.  The Pied Piper play was quite interesting although I didn't understand the language.  Hameln was a small town and not much to do beside the Pied Piper play.  And then I went to Kassel on Monday.  The focus of Kassel is the Wilhelmshoehe Park.  There are several spots in the park and can spend half day to walk around.

Today, I'm back to Frankfurt again.  It's my last day in Germany and also my 30th day in Europe.  Do I feel homesick?  Yes, a little bit.  I miss the things back home, especially the food.

Tomorrow, I will leave for Copenhagen Danmark.  Three more days later, Rita and Christine will meet me in Oslo and travel 2 weeks in Norway togerther.  They will also bring me some supplement.   Can't wait to see them~

Talk to you later in Scandinavia Europe.

Best regards,

Judy
